Mr. Afiq has a clinical background and training in Physiotherapist. He graduated from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in 2011. After acquiring his degree, he works in several physiotherapy, rehabilitation and clinical center including WQPark Rehabilitation Centre in Petaling Jaya and PhysioSavvy in Sri Hartamas. Afiq began his career with National Sport Institute of Malaysia in Bukit Jalil since 2014. He is appointed as Physiotherapist in the Sport Rehabilitation Division, at the Institute until today.

Muhammad Afiq has vast experience working together with both off and on-fielding managing traumatic musculoskeletal as well as sports related injuries. The cases varies from acute, repetitive or chronic (ie; ligaments, meniscus, tendon and muscles) injuries until complex cases (ie; multi-ligament injuries, joint dislocation/instability, bony/joint deformity) that requires surgical repair, reconstruction or realignment and later on rehabilitation.

Being a Physiotherapist in Rehabilitation Unit in National Sport Institute, Muhammad Afiq has the opportunity to work together with Sport Medicine team in treating and managing the Malaysian athletes that requires specific needs and high level of precision during rehabilitation as well as return to training and sports. Due to his is passion and dedication especially working with elite athletes, he has been entrusted by National Sports Institute to be a part of the official medical team for Malaysian contingent in ASEAN UniversityGames Palembang 2014, Para SEA Games Singapore 2015, World University Games Gwangju 2015, Paralympic Games Rio 2016, SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017. Muhammad Afiq also has been entrusted to work with Malaysian Rugby as part of their medical team throughout Asian Rugby Championship (World Cup 2019 Qualifying) tour.

Muhammad Afiq has a special interest inphysical as well as technology diagnostic tools. He has always utilized any latest and proven technology and technique as one of the points of care, quick and reliable tools in managing his patient in the Rehabilitation and clinic. He works closely with Sports Medicine Specialist, Musculoskeletal Radiologist and Orthopedic surgeon in managing his athletes. Beside clinical expertise, he has exposure in management side as he has been anintegral part of management of High-Performance Team (team sports) in Medical ISN since 2016. In his free time, he is an avid team and individual sports enthusiast especially football, futsal, badminton, table tennis and outdoor activities such as hiking.
